Roger Jean and City Council of Carpiquet

Our first meeting in July of 2018 is pictured here. HTT3 traveled to Carpiquet to personally meet with the city council of Carpiquet led by Roger Jean (3rd from the right). Carpiquet has a very painful place in the psyche of the North Shore Regiment, where they faced tough German resistance and took the city at a dreadful cost. Equally terrible is the fact that Carpiquet had to be completely rebuilt after the war and many of the people living there today lost relatives in the crossfire of that battle. They are very warm and friendly people who are committed to honouring the North Shore Regiment.
